There’s something comforting about emo-core. Hate it as I might, it’s probably because the bands are so sincere. And hate it as they might, it’s also because they’re so safe. I think emo-core is precisely the type of music smart teenagers should be making. I also subscribe to the idea that teenagers don’t really know what they’re doing.. and shouldn’t. (more…)

Pop music’s a strange world, isn’t it? My biggest criticism of crap bands is that they release album after album of the same dreck. On the other hand, if Belle and Sebastian ever change, I’ll be crushed. Obviously, the crucial difference here being that B & S don’t write crap tunes.
